This week an American teenager found herself at the centre of a social media storm - and became the nemesis of many a Brit - when she launched into a Twitter tirade attacking British culture .

She began by introducing her rant, saying: "im gonna do a thread on weird things British people do" (sic).

Then she listed all of her biggest bugbears - based on a British person she met on holiday - leaving no holds barred.

 

She attacked everything from spelling to 'pale' skin, and taking issue with little things - like the way we say 'grated cheese' instead of 'shredded cheese'.

We also 'drive weird' and on the 'wrong side of the road' and our British slang makes 'zero sense'.

While we're on the subject of slang, everyone stop saying 'lad' and 'mate', because we use that too much as well.

Brits get revenge by listing 'weird things Americans do' after US teen criticises ALL of British culture

Naturally, Brits weren't very happy about it.

So as well as replying to her to tell her where she's going wrong on a few of her opinions, they also started tweeting with the hashtag #WeirdThingsAmericansDo.
