Man killed in crash with rented Lamborghini on Nolensville Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 28-year-old man died

Metro police said Suk Rai was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima when he pulled out of the Auto Zone near Fairlane Drive, just south of Haywood Lane, at 10:40 a.m.

According to a press release, Rai pulled into the path of a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.

The Lamborghini, which was headed south on Nolensville Pike, collided with the driver’s side of the Altima, causing it to roll on its roof.

Authorities say Rai, 28, was partially thrown from the car and died at the scene.

His family, who lives nearby, was on the scene and visibly distraught.

Metro police reported a contributing factor of the crash appears to be Rai’s failure to yield. There was no evidence at the scene indicating that alcohol or drugs were a factor.

The driver of the Lamborghini, 27-year-old Kyle Kirchner, was not injured. Police said he did not show signs of impairment but acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past few days.

Kirchner consented to a blood sample, which is standard procedure, and was taken to TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center.
