Happy Thanksgiving. A Time for Family, Good Cooking, and Libertarian Talk

There is something very nice about Thanksgiving. Even with the bloody past of anihalating cultures we still celebrate it. (Don't worry I'm not going there) Why? Because we are thankful for the things around us. It has a nice concept and it's one of the few holidays that allow you to spend time with family, enjoy home cooked meals, and discuss with the family.

Then you have someone like me join the party. I smile, but they know what I'm thinking. They know I just love to talk politics and I love watching Democrats and Republicans squirm once in a while due to the discomfort of their own faults of their party. Okay, maybe I am not that venomous. Honestly, the big part of what makes me enjoy politics (especially during Thanksgiving) is seeing all the ideologies of the others. I try not to make others uncomfortable. One of the common things people tell you is: "Don't talk about politics." Clearly it's a faux pas.  Eh, that seems boring. I make things fun. I want to hear the opinion of Uncle Tom. I want to hear the hardcore Republican come out, and create real discussion amongst the table. I want to hear the Democrat speak what really can make the world a better place from their perspective. For it is valuable in its own right.

I simply come in, sew in a small seed and before you know it, the entire table is talking about the concept I pose to them. With the Libertarian spice giving a unique taste to the meal in front of each member of your family -- if I made one person question their own opinion and consider additional research, I've already won. Though this holiday is not about winning, for being thankful to speak with others about the ideologies I care about without risk of things turning south is a valueable thing to me. I am thankful for that.

I'm thankful for my family, thankful for my country, despite where it seems to be going. Thankful for the people around me who manage to tolerate me in my insufferable political discussion. And I am thankful for readers like you. Now go out there, make those around you proud! As for myself, I will be cooking for my mom later as she really despises cooking.
